Jesus responded to a question, "What is the greatest commandment?". His answer was to: 1) Love the Lord, and 2) Love others. As Believers, we love the brethren by encouraging them, caring for their needs and discipling them. To those who have not yet believed, we love them through our witness. This video uses the metaphor of a court system to show the "Defendant", (Jesus and Gospel),"Accuser", (Satan), "Witness", (The Father and us as Believers), and "Counselor", (Holy Spirit). From a Biblical perspective, we play the part of "Witness", to tell the truth to the Lost, the World, and all of creation. Our witness goes beyond words. Our witness is our character and our life choices and lifestyle as Believers. I close on the subject with a fictional story, "A Plea for Fishing". We are called to be "Fishers of Men". God bless.

While the church has taught the need to follow the Great Commission, the evangelical efforts (Witnessing to the lost) for Justification have always seen more emphasis than the Sanctification or growth of the Disciple. Many years ago, a Southern Baptist missionary saw the need to "disciple" those who came to the initial knowledge of Christ. He developed a successful, small-group program, "Master Life". I took the key elements of this discipleship tool, and modernized and edited for today's church. It is called,"the Disciple's Cross". It is a visualization of those disciplines required to be Christ's disciple. I lead the viewer through my two-part lectures. I would have been successful, not to give information, but rather, to help the person become a strong disciple of Christ by incorporating the scripture-taught disciplines. In other words, we must "do" the Gospel, not just hear it. God Bless!

Most people, when asked what they want in life, say, "I just want to be happy". And then, they proceed to find "things" that will make them happy. The list is long, e.g., cars, houses, girlfriends, boyfriends, accomplishments, etc. I demonstrate how this approach never brings lasting peace and joy. The "Gospel" found all through the Bible is the message of "Good News" that does bring something called "Eternal Life". The answer is in the message of Christ in the Gospel. God bless you!

Because many of Christ's commands to Christians seemed very difficult to do, like putting God before our family, our friends and ourselves, I wondered if all Christians must be disciples. It didn't seem to me, that there were many people that called themselves Christians, doing things that Christ said they must be, like denying self and taking up our cross. But the scriptures do not make a distinction between a Christian and a Disciple. In other words, we must be both. The fact is, some Christians are in fact, immature, based on the Bible's definition. This message contains the, "why" we must grow and mature as Christians. In fact, the very definition and nature of a Christian has to do with "Growing", or metamorphous. We have the capacity to change as the Holy Spirit now resides in us. A key factor to our growth, is to understand and use certain tools, (disciplines). Therefore, this message is the "gateway" to more messages to help us understand how to grow to maturity. God bless, -Paul

How shall the Christian live? In this message, I used a (business and psychological) industry standard model, "Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs", to use as a benchmark of the secular life, (without Christ). We begin by discussing the needs and wants, typical of a "worldly" life. God has in mind a different, "New" life in Christ. The difference is inherent in the Goals of the Christian versus non-believer. I used the following scriptural references: Matthew 4:4, Matthew 6:25-33, Philippians 4:12-13,19, and Romans 12:1. MY MESSAGE INTENDS TO USE EVERYDAY LANGUAGE ABOUT THE REAL CONTRACT BETWEEN GOD AND MAN. SO MANY TIMES, WE USE CHURCH LANGUAGE AND ESOTERIC WORDS THAT DON’T FEEL RELEVANT IN OUR DAY AND AGE, AND THE REAL MESSAGE GETS LOST. WE WILL FIND, WHEN WE STUDY THIS RELATIONSHIP, CAREFULLY, THAT IT IS BOUND TOGETHER BY ONE WORD - LOVE.. WE STUDY GOD'S WORD AND SEE WORDS LIKE FAITH AND HOPE. BUT WE REALIZE THAT IT'S ALL CONNECTED BY LOVE, THE GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE. I USE LUKE 10 TO FOCUS ON THE PARABLE OF JESUS CALLED THE GOOD SAMARITAN. GOD BLESS!

Friends, I have attached the link (below) for my new Bible study video, "Bad News - Good News". How many times have we heard someone witnessing to an unbeliever, challenging them to be saved? Then the one receiving the message responds with, "saved from what"? In other words, as Christians, we sometimes offer no pretext to the request. That's why I believe God inspired me to discuss this subject. The title, "Good News - Bad News" suggests that before anyone can really accept the Gospel message as "Good News", we must understand the corrupt condition of the human heart. I describe this condition in terms of the legal perspective, i.e., from the Divine and also from the existential, (reality). Most of this message is intended to show the reality of this condition on our lives and the lives of others. Malcolm Muggeridge said, "The depravity of man is at once the most empirically verifiable reality, but at the same time, the most intellectually resisted fact". I hope this topic will be helpful as you walk with Christ. God bless, -Paul

Friends, I have attached a link to my recent video message on "The Transfiguration". This event in the Bible is unique, as God selected three apostles to go with Christ up a mountain to pray. The outcome of this event was a great lesson the the apostles an to us. God selected this time to show Jesus glory as God. The curtain of Jesus humanity was opened, and the glory of God, (in Jesus), was displayed! Another lesson was for Peter to understand the Surpassing Glory of Jesus above Moses and Elijah. Jesus remained in the cloud, and emanating in brilliant white light as the fulfillment of the Law (Moses), and Prophets (Elijah). The message: Jesus is God!

Ever since recorded history, people have tried to get the answer to such questions as, the meaning of life, life after death and where did we come from? We seek answers from another place through haunted houses and ghost documentaries. Our scripture, (2Kings, chapter 6), shows an instance when God allows the servant of Elisha to see God's army, which is greater than the vast army of the King of Aram as the chariots of fire. I present five lessons we could learn about seeing the spiritual world.

The Bible is sometime seen in two parts: The Old Testament Law, and the New Testament Grace. I explain, our Christian path as a narrow one with steep and slippery slopes on either side. If we focus only on the Law, we slip into Legalism. If we step down the other slope, I call it "License" On one hand, we live a life of performance, on the other, we do whatever we desire. The Christian must understand that both Testaments are important and must be understood, for they both include and describe the Gospel.

The animal sacrifices were replaced with the blood of Christ, once and for all!

This is the first in a series of videos on Romans chapter 7 and the sin of humanity. This goes much deeper than most explanations of us as sinful beings. Sin is not a popular topic among most preachers today. Certainly, secular thinking (therapists and cultural leaders, etc) say we shouldn’t talk about our faults, but only about positives. Malcolm Muggeridge said: "The depravity of man is at once the most empirically verifiable reality but at the same time the most intellectually resisted fact." Kierkegaard: "Sickness unto death" is a state of despair that comes from a misrelation of the self, particularly when one's identity is not properly grounded in God He argued that sin is not just about specific actions but is rooted in a fundamental misrelation to oneself and to God, which he termed "despair." We will follow our study on sin and discuss what we can do about it from Romans 8.

FOR MANY BELIEVERS, THE PANDEMIC HAS STIRRED US TO THINK ABOUT JESUS SECOND COMING. IN MATTHEW 24:37 IT SAYS “FOR AS IN THE DAYS THAT WERE BEFORE THE FLOOD THEY WERE EATING AND DRINKING, MARRYING AND GIVING IN MARRIAGE” IN OTHER WORDS, MOST PEOPLE WILL NOT BE WATCHING. THE WORD IS “APATHETIC” TO GODS WORD - MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEY WILL NOT BE SERVING OTHERS AND WORSHIPPING GOD. AND RIGHT THERE, IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS MESSAGE. These days are full of disappointments and confusing events that cause us to think about the Biblical prophesies of the Tribulation during the End Times. But, our future is sealed for Believers in Christ. That future is the Eternal State of Heaven. I put this message together to remind us of the key characteristics of our eternity of Heaven. This lesson is Part 2 of our discussion of the End Times. I believe the Covid virus event is a "wake-up" call to believers. We have allowed sin to enter our culture and lives. We cannot compartmentalize our lives to be faithful on Sunday morning and live like the world the rest of the Week. The Bible tells us there will be tribulation, (trouble), and at the same time He will pour out His Spirit on us. Therefore, as we approach these last days, we must do it through the power of the Holy Spirit. We need supernatural strength and we need to use the weapons of God. Watch and Pray. -Paul

Even though in our day we do not use this language when referring to Jesus role in our salvation, certainly the Holy Spirit spoke through the human author to the Hebrew people with the role of the Tabernacle priest in mind. Perhaps it would serve us well to think of Jesus in these terms. There is a "gap" between God and man that is filled by our High Priest. Sinful man had no access to a holy God. But Jesus satisfied God and opened this access through His death. The heavenly curtain is torn (as was the tabernacle curtain torn as Jesus was sacrificed on the cross). The lesson concludes by discussing the specific roles Jesus plays today in the believer's heart and life.

Most new believers have not studied the sacrificial system God set up for His people in Exodus and Leviticus. I believe it is most helpful for the Bible student to understand the role of Jesus as our savior. To understand it more completely, we are looking at Jesus through an Old Testament lens, noting His role as Great High Priest. Unfortunately, we still wear the outer coat, that is, old nature. But we do have the capability to overcome sins that drag us down.
